A 52% / 48% Polyester and Cotton blended fabric which has been exclusively woven and developed for J.T. Inglis, Regentex gives a high strength to low weight ratio which makes it ideal for areas where physical performance must be matched by visual appeal. It is woven with either its characteristic Rip Stop Weave or in Plain Weave. The cotton content ensures breathability while the polyester content gives the fabric its strength. Our trademark Regentex is only seen on fabric that has been processed with J. T. Inglis proofing formulations. It was the first fabric of its kind developed for the U. K. market and remains the market leader.
Regentex is produced in a range of weights from 271 grammes per square metre (8oz per square yard) - to 810 grammes per square metre (24oz per sqaure yard) and in a range of widths. It has high tensile and tear strengths, approximately twice those of a similar weight of any cotton duck.
Regentex is particularly popular for use in the haulage industry to cover awkward and bulky loads. Such applications as protecting steel coils or timber cargo give its users the benefits of light weight but strong useable covering. Additionally its rip-stop weave ensures that any accidental damage can be contained until a repair can be carried out.
Regentex is the fabric known for its use in the traditional New Zealand Rug. It is specifically imported into and extensively used in New Zealand to manufacture premium horsewear for harsh weather conditions. It is also extensively used in the United States, as well as in the U.K. by leading horse rug manufacturers. Its breathable characteristics ensure that the horse’s health is not compromised while its rip-stop weave is robust for equine vandals. Light weight and easy to use, Regentex provides the traditional British quality made horsewear solution for both the winter and summer months.
It is also an ideal fabric for architecture and construction, being resistant to deformation and extension under tension. It has excellent properties for resistance to abrasion and mechanical damage as well
as degradation from long-term exposure to sunlight.
